welcome to the wonderful world of flakebox
this is your go-to tool for glitchy, bit-crushing, warbling drone madness. it will happily chew signals into broken digital rubble, smear pitch around until it forgets what key it started in, and generally misbehave for long periods of time.
it is also, slightly inconveniently, capable of being very beautiful.
flakebox runs internally at high precision, so if you leave it alone it can produce clean, stable, high-resolution drones that barely move at all. smooth tones, slow drift, lots of space, no grit unless you ask for it. the same machine that will happily destroy a signal will also preserve it perfectly.
the point is that nothing is forced. lo-fidelity is a choice here, not a default. damage is something you dial in deliberately. when you render, whatever state the machine is in gets printed permanently to audio, warts and all.
sometimes you will want the crunch. sometimes you will want the clarity. sometimes you will want both at once.
flakebox does not care which you choose.
Not live audio. Audio must be rendered first.
