My new EP, "Lo Fidelity" emerged from the depths of DoingItYourselfness. Six tracks to beckon you into the raw, unadulterated realm of indie authenticity. In a sonic homage to the lo-fi wonders of yesteryears, each track resonates with the crackle of nostalgia, harkening back to the days of my four-track cassette recordings. Written, performed, and produced by myself at home, this EP attempts to channel the spirit of a bygone era, with gritty charm. If I do say so myself.
If you like these tunes, the best way to help me make more is to buy a digital copy from Bandcamp.
Messages to friends. Internal and exterior. Sometimes makes my toes tap
if you need a friend I'll lend a sympathetic ear
you'll see - I know you there
your clock's as stopped as my cares
hear what I say
look on the brightside and think it over
look on the brightside and think it over
before you're done running around here
you're in a clarity of confusion
a friction between introspection and display
where a cold hand will dictate an unwieldy fate
that's why I say
look on the brightside and think it over
look on the brightside and think it over
before you're done running around here
waking up in the sun, hoping the day has come
war's over for one dead soldier
at the end of a tether - hope
dangled on a dancing rope
pored over, over and over
tearing the labels off
look on the brightside and think it over
look on the brightside and think it over
before you're done running around here
the steeple in the wind bends a sympathetic ear
and says, "I know you there"
"my clock's as stopped as your cares"
and it's all because you said
A mid-life crisis. A headache. The state of the union
when i was young, would've papered over
all the cracks that have become
with knowing
now it's half-done, feel born all over
in such torrid times are we
don't pretend you can't hear me
and now i look up and i am older
it's gone as it had come
with knowing
all the people i have thrown - all the pasting over
in such torrid times were these
so many unspelt things
no more of this - won't take much more of this
i live in a sick country
we are led by donkeys and pig-feasting flunkies
where it's all a grift for disaster capitalists
our oars adrift are floating in their ocean we are drowning
we are polarised, divided then pulverised
crushed with bugs and creatures
served as vegan dinners
it's more or less whatever they say it is
held on a knife edge between living and nightmares
From a certain room, in a certain house
i'll show you war, a war of the mind
it's pure envy
so how about yours?
i've shown you mine
for every pain there's a conscience supplied
and it's unending
all alone in the dark
because second chances never come until tomorrow
so come back to me - your loneliness won't follow
come on back to me
your loneliness won't follow us
your loneliness won't sound any silent alarms
sound any silent alarms
sound any silent alarms
sound any silent
come back to me - your loneliness won't follow
come on back to me
your loneliness won't follow us
your loneliness won't
Write song, grab handful of words, throw at wall. New song
lama, lama - salvador lama
let's drop the world
your flowers low and quiet
and go into a sky which others stroke forever more
hero in paradise
and be a hero in paradise
a hero in paradise falls
the sun runs over the waving hands of others
and makes a chaos of shadow roots on the scalpel of Jesus
something worth yelling i yelled, i yelled in sculptured plumes collect
with a swoop and water he thought yonder good stop together into howling stoop
even now to make a poem out - even NOW!
and that's just too beautiful to disallow
i can't keep rolling on like a hercules moth
saving up a smile for?
i can't keep rolling on but i'm afraid to stop
a concrete boy for sure
hero in paradise
i'll be a hero in paradise
there'll be needles in heaven for sure
kayleigh's gone, long gone
staying with friends
she kissed some guy and now she's staying with friends
she cried as she told me
i cried when i heard
K says she never has any fun
she's sadder than anyone i know
kayleigh's gone
kayleigh's gone
